10. Highlights – Ungulates (Atik and Mooz; Caribou and Moose)

Aerial Surveys and Mortality Investigations will take place in 2023.

Aerial Surveys

  • Flew over 6,000 km and found sightings of caribou and moose

Early Atik /
Caribou Findings

  • Blood work collected during the collar deployment confirmed that a high percentage of the females collared were pregnant
  • Aerial surveys documented females with calves in the winter of 2022
  • Group sizes of up to 12 individuals were observed

Early Mooz /
Moose Findings

  • Moose were observed throughout the study area in a range of habitats
  • Data collection is ongoing
