Current and Upcoming Fall Field Programs
The 2022 field season for the Marten Falls First Nation Community Access Road is beginning to wind down. With the upcoming hunting season and other project’s conducting field programs, we wanted to remind you that if you are in the Community Access Road study area you may notice an increase in helicopters in the area and field crews accessing sites.
Upcoming Field Studies
As noted in the August E-Blast, the following remaining programs will be completed this fall:
Below is a high-level overview of upcoming field study programs and their approximate timelines*. You can also learn about the programs in the video links below and share your feedback in Discussion Guide links.
- Aerial Waterfowl Migration Survey: September 27 – 29, 2022
- Physiography and Terrain Surveys: September 26 – October 8, 2022
- Groundwater and Geochemistry Program: Ongoing until November 10, 2022
- Ungulates Remote Camera Check: October 21 – 28, 2022
- Caribou Mortality Investigation: if needed
*Timelines and programs are approximate and may shift; we will provide updates as required.
The Field Notices for Groundwater and Geochemistry (July 2022), Physiography & Terrain (May 2022) and Aerial Waterfowl Migration (March 2022) provide additional information on what these field programs are studying. Field programs will continue in 2023 and we’ll continue to provide updates.
